The morning after Jacob's first day out, he woke up out of a dream….as I am sure any of us would be, foggy but knowing something strange and wonderful had been given to him in the night. His first response….as he awoke, ‘Surely, the Lord is in this place, and I knew it not.’ Can you imagine? All of the emotional turmoil he had been going through recently, a whole day of arduous travel…he had to have been beat when he gathered the rock for his pillow. Like any of us who have believed a particular promise in the Bible (our prophetic blessing) and then seen all of the circumstances in our life turn completely contrary….weariness sets in. And then you get a dream, another glimmer of light in the midst of ungodly circumstances and you say, ‘surely, the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.’
This was His confirmation to Jacob and it is His confirmation to us. Don’t give up! This land is yours and even if you have some other places to go for a time….this place will be yours upon your return. Wait and see!
Good morning Father, thank you so much for reminders of our facet of your prophetic blessing to us….for you touching us through the spoken word of a friend, a dream in the night, or insight through a wonderful story or a play. Thank you for entrusting us with a piece of history and tenacity to carry out our role. Thank you for loving us, protecting our every move, providing not only the ambition, but also the resources we need to continue to take each step. We open ourselves today to the opportunity to bless those you place in our path. In Jesus name we praise and thank you….Amen!
